Expertise
Dr. Sehmsdorf advises domestic and foreign companies with regard to commercial law. Key areas of his advisory activities include contract design as well as legal matters connected to insolvency and reorganization, including the related liability issues. A further key area is legal support for corporate acquisitions. In addition, Dr. Sehmsdorf advises individuals with regard to construction and real estate law.
Career History
Dr. Sehmsdorf was born in 1965 in Marburg upon Lahn. After completing vocational training to become a bank clerk, Dr. Sehmsdorf studied law and economics at the University of Bayreuth and completed his legal clerkship in Heidelberg (area of specialization: international private law). After working professionally for the German Chambers of Foreign Trade in North America and Southeast Asia, he completed his doctorate on a labor law-related topic. From 1996 to 1997 he worked for Dresdner Bank AG in the reorganization division. He subsequently worked for several years as a lawyer for the international law firm CMS Hasche Sigle Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater and CMS Hasche Sigle Insolvenz GbR. Dr. Sehmsdorf has been a lawyer and partner at BÖHRET SEHMSDORF since 2010.
